Privacy Policy

Oak Rose Counseling LLC is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of our clients. We do not share, sell, or otherwise disclose information about our clients to any other party except as requested by the client in writing. The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist and none of your information will be distributed to individuals or agencies outside of Oak Rose Counseling LLC with the exception the following situations:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse must be reported this to the appropriate authorities immediately, as required by law.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure their safety.
  • Therapists are required by law to report incidences of sexual misconduct on the part of other therapists.

  • We abide by HIPAA practice standards.
  • Therapists will not “friend” clients on personal social media accounts as this can interfere with a healthy counseling relationship, effective boundaries, and confidentiality. Clients may “follow” Oak Rose Counseling LLC.
  • Though we make our best effort to ensure that emails, texts, and phone calls are secure, we cannot guarantee confidentially when using these forms of communication.

Communicating over the Internet

There are limits to protecting your confidentiality over the internet. While we do our utmost to preserve your confidentiality, we cannot guarantee privacy. Please consider the information you submit over the internet prior to sending.

We strongly discourage using email or our “contact us” form to send messages of a personal or confidential nature. Even though we do our best to keep our email confidential, email is copied, archived, and retransmitted continuously as part of normal processing. Because of this, please use email only to request information about our services, or other non-confidential matters.

Information Gathered on this Site
